Part of Lake Champlain beach reopens

The Associated PressJuly 9, 2014

— A section of beach in Burlington that was closed because of higher than normal levels of E. coli has reopened.

The southern end of North Beach was closed to swimming on Tuesday morning.

City officials say new tests showed the bacteria levels had gone down to below recommended levels. WCAX-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1kEnaDM) that the full beach reopened to swimming on Wednesday morning.
