Arrest warrants have been issued for an Eastman insurance agent accused of pocketing $16,000 in clients’ premiums.

Sarah Amber Winans, 41, is charged with seven counts of insurance fraud and three counts of forgery, according to a news release issued by the state insurance commissioner’s office.

Winans was the principal agent at ABC Insurance Agency on Morgan Creek Drive in Eastman.

An investigation showed Winans collected clients’ premiums for homeowner’s and crop insurance policies, but she didn’t forward the money to the insurance companies, according to the release.

Anyone who did business with Winans and has a doubt about their insurance coverage can call the state insurance commissioner’s Consumer Services Division at 800-656-2298. Phone lines are open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
