Bibb County deputies are looking for a young man, possibly a teenager, who reached across a counter to grab money from a gas station cash register before running away.

The robbery took place around 2 p.m. Sunday at the Raceway gas station, 6001 Harrison Road. The man grabbed an undisclosed amount of money before the clerk could close the cash register, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said. He ran out of the store and across the street.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male in his late teens or early 20s, with a thin mustache, who is between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a black shirt and shorts, as well as a black do-rag.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to leave a message for an on-call investigator at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or with the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68CRIME.
