A Dublin man has been sentenced to more than 21 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to sending child pornography to a person he thought was a mother in an effort to arrange sex with her young girls.

Herbert Eugene Burroughs, 47, must serve 262 months in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing pornography in December last year, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office news release.

Between April and June 2013, Burroughs exchanged emails with an undercover FBI agent posing as a Maryland mother. A federal search warrant revealed he actively traded child pornography with other people through email, according to the release.

Authorities found approximately 3,200 images and 164 videos showing child sex abuse on his account, according to the release.
