Mercer nominated for ESPY

The Mercer men’s basketball team received an ESPY nomination in the “Best Upset” category as ESPN announced the nominees Tuesday. There are three nominees in Mercer's category.

Fans can log on to to submit their vote leading up to the show at 9 p.m. on July 16. To support the Bears, fans can tweet to @ESPYS and @MercerMBB while using the hashtags #ESPY and #MercerESPYS.

Mercer beat Duke 78-71 in the second round of the NCAA tournament, becoming the 18th No. 14 seed to beat a No. 3 seed. The Bears lost to Tennessee in the third round to finish 27-9 after winning their first A-Sun regular-season title.
