Macon drummer and percussionist Steve Moretti has a role in the upcoming movie “Jersey Boys.”

Moretti, co-founder of Macon Pops, can be seen playing drums and counting down in a couple of scenes, according to a release.

The movie, which opens Friday, is based on the Broadway musical of the same name. The Clint Eastwood film is about the rise to stardom of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

When Macon Pops plays again on Sept. 6, Moretti is scheduled to perform one of the songs he plays on in the film.

Moretti is a two-time Grammy Award nominee and winner of two Telly Awards. He has played on more than 30 nationally released recordings.

He is executive director and drummer for Macon Pops, a pops orchestra he helped create with his longtime collaborator, Matt Catingub.
