A Baldwin County hospice nurse was arrested Wednesday in Macon on accusations she falsified prescriptions.

Diane Godfrey, 58, of Vestal Circle in Milledgeville, is charged with 54 felony counts of fraudulently obtaining controlled substances, according to a news release from the Milledgeville Police Department.

Medical Arts Pharmacy alerted police after Godfrey alledgedly called in and picked up phony prescriptions for pain killers, including the hydrocodone Lortab.

Detective Kim Khan chased downed leads over several months and learned the medications were not prescribed to Godfrey’s patients, the release stated.
