Warner Robins American Little League West defeated WRALL East 10-3 on Monday night for the District 5 Little League rookie baseball championship.

In its second year, the rookie tournament features players who have been in the coach-pitch divisions playing kid-pitch games.

Monday’s game was the longest either team has played, going all six innings. The score was close for most of the game until a few key hits put the game out of reach for the East.

“These kids never give up,” WRALL West manager Kevin Pike said. “They needed this to go to the next round.”

Both teams will play in the South Sectional tournament, which begins Friday. The round-robin tournament also will have a team from Columbus Northern Little League.
