WARNER ROBINS -- A Warner Robins man fired at the bedroom floor of someone he knew and then tried fleeing from police in a car and on foot in a Wednesday night incident, police said.

Police spokeswoman Tabitha Clark said Thornia Dewayne James, 29, forced his way into the home in the 200 block of South Third Street where a confrontation took place. Clark said police think James meant only to shoot the floor.

A police report says a 26-year-old man sustained minor injuries. A 22-year-old woman also is listed as a victim.

Police responded to a call of shots fired and got a description of James and his vehicle. They found him around South Davis Drive and pursued his vehicle, Clark said. James drove a short distance, bailed out of the vehicle and ran a short distance before being caught.

Jail records show James is charged with aggravated assault, 1st degree burglary, fleeing or attempting to elude, attempted armed robbery, reckless driving, two counts of public indecency and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call detective Justin Clark at 478-302-5380. To submit a tip to Macon Regional Crimestoppers, call 478-742-2330.
