The medical condition of the wife of WMAZ anchorman Frank Malloy continues to improve after she was critically injured Monday afternoon when her car went down an embankment on Rivoli Drive.
Marilyn Malloy, 54, underwent successful surgery Tuesday morning to repair her broken right leg and remains heavily sedated.
Malloy suffered additional broken bones and a head injury when her Chevrolet Malibu went off the road in a one-vehicle accident just north of Wesleyan Drive.
Were optimistic for a good outcome, Frank Malloy said at her hospital bedside during her recovery from surgery. Its nothing that time cant heal.
She is expected to remain hospitalized for about a week before beginning rehabilitation, he said.
Over the past two years, Marilyn Malloy has been the primary caregiver for the couples middle son, Nick, who was paralyzed in an automobile accident on Interstate 75 in March 2012.
Im just overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and the prayers being offered up, Frank Malloy said. Its a traumatic time, but its made so much easier knowing so many people are out there offering up prayers, especially for Marilyn.
