A Jones County man is accused of trying to kill his wife, who was found lying near the entrance of the Sunoco at 4315 Houston Ave. about 11:25 a.m. Monday.

Angela Hester, 37, of Gray, was critically injured when her husband, 49-year-old Alfrado Hester, allegedly hit her from behind with his vehicle while she walked in the parking lot, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

She suffered a serious head injury and is in critical condition at The Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Her husband drove off, leaving her on the ground. He was later arrested Monday evening in Jones County with the help of local deputies.

Alfrado Hester is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder.
