Bibb property assessments to be mailed Friday
Property owners in Macon-Bibb County should soon get notices in the mail about their assessed property value and a rough estimate of what theyll owe in property taxes this year.
The Macon-Bibb County Board of Tax Assessors is mailing those notices Friday, as required by a change in Georgia law, Macon-Bibb County spokesman Chris Floore said in a news release.
The notices will be sent to the owner of record as of Jan. 1. Theyll include updated assessments based on surrounding sales and property improvements, but the estimated taxes are based on 2013 records.
Written appeals to new assessments can be filed within 45 days. For more information go to www.bibbassessors.com.
