The threat of rain Thursday postponed a planned Peace Officer Memorial Day observance to 8:15 a.m. Friday at the Public Safety Memorial Park on Mulberry Street near Second Street.

The public is invited to join Bibb County sheriff’s deputies, Macon-Bibb firefighters and former Macon police officers to honor the sacrifices of those who died in the line of duty.

Warren Selby, chairman of the Macon-Bibb Law Enforcement Foundation, will host the event that will include remarks from Mayor Robert Reichert, Bibb Sheriff David Davis, Bibb sheriff’s Col. Henderson Carswell and Fire Chief Marvin Riggins.
