A man being questioned at Wal-Mart on Saturday about possible shoplifting ended up in jail on much more serious charges.
According to a Bibb County Sheriffs Office release, a store loss-prevention officer was questioning a man and woman when the man pulled a knife and held it to the officers neck.
The officer suffered a minor cut as he struggled to get away from the suspect, who was chased down and arrested by deputies.
Cameron Stanley Dickerson, 32, of Gordon, was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, obstruction, criminal trespass and theft by shoplifting. Kelli Melissa Nickels, 30, of Gray, was charged with theft by shoplifting.
The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wal-Mart on Harrison Road. Dickerson was caught on Eisenhower Parkway near Harrison Road.
The loss-prevention officer was treated at the scene by paramedics and released.
