Accident tied up I-475 northbound traffic for hours

May 10, 2014

An blown tire on a recreational vehicle led to a backed up traffic on 475 northbound for more than three hours Saturday.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, at about 1:30 p.m. a blown tire caused an RV to swerve into a ditch. It blocked two lanes until about 6 p.m., but with heavy weekend traffic it caused a long backup until the wreck was cleared. There were no serious injuries.

The accident happened near Thomaston Road.
