Perry police arrest 4 in connection with armed robbery

Staff reportMay 6, 2014

Perry police arrested four people Tuesday in connection with a Friday armed robbery on Stanley Street. The victim was in his vehicle about 9:40 p.m. when he was robbed, according to a police news release.

Police arrested Deyontre Emmanuel Lawson, 20, of Elko; Sirtrayvis Raymond Hicks, 20, of Perry; and two juveniles, the release states. Both juveniles are from Perry, Chief Steve Lynn said during a City Council meeting.

Lawson was arrested on a charge of robbery, and Hicks was arrested on a charge of party to the crime of robbery and a probation violation, according to Houston County jail records.

The charges against the juveniles, who were being held at the Crisp Regional Youth Development Center, were not immediately available.

Lynn said the gun used in the robbery wasn’t a real firearm but rather an airsoft pistol that looked like a handgun. The charges are the same as if a real firearm were used, as the victim believed it was a real firearm.
