A Crawford County man died early Sunday after crashing his pickup on Causey Road.

Robert Michael Meyer, 45, of Knoxville, was driving too fast in a curve, lost control, over-corrected his steering and flipped the pickup at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, said Gordy Wright, public information officer for the Georgia State Patrol.

Meyer was thrown out of the truck and later died at The Medical Center of Central Georgia at 5:07 that morning.

An unidentified passenger was also hurt and taken to the Medical Center and was in stable condition, according to a news release from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
