Bibb County

Central Georgia Technical College: 3300 Macon Tech Drive, Macon, 478-757-3400, Central Georgia Technical College’s Macon campus is a two-year public commuter college serving students in Bibb, Baldwin, Crawford, Jones, Monroe, Putnam and Twiggs counties. In 2013, Central Georgia Technical College and Middle Georgia Technical College combined to form the new Central Georgia Technical College with primary campuses in Macon and Warner Robins. The college offers on-site and distance learning programs through its Macon campus, branch campuses and other means. It offers adult education, continuing education, and customized business and industry educational services. Among its programs of study are business technology, health technology, information technology, public services, technical, and trade and industrial programs.

Georgia College (branch): 433 Cherry St., Suite B, Macon, 478-752-4278. The Macon Center offers professional graduate programs for those already in the workforce wanting to further develop career prospects in business, education, health services, the public service and nonprofit management.

Middle Georgia State College: 100 College Station Drive, Macon, 478-471-2700, A four-year, residential, bachelor’s degree-awarding college serving nearly 9,000 students with campuses in Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, Macon and Warner Robins. The college also offers associate degrees and certificates. Among Middle Georgia State’s bachelor’s degree programs are biology, business, education, English, information technology, communications, nursing, psychology, public service and respiratory therapy. Middle Georgia State was created in January 2013 through the consolidation of the former Macon State College and Middle Georgia College.

Mercer University: 1400 Coleman Ave., Macon, 478-301-2700, Founded in 1883. Through its Macon campus and campuses in numerous Georgia locations such as Atlanta and Savannah, Mercer University offers programs in fields such as liberal arts, business, engineering, education, medicine, law, pharmacy and theology.

Miller-Motte Technical College (branch): 175 Tom Hill Sr. Blvd., Macon, 478-803-4800, In Macon, Miller-Motte offers courses in cosmetology, management, massage therapy, medical assistant training, medical billing and coding, medical laboratory assistant and medical laboratory technician.

University of Phoenix (branch): 6055 Lakeside Commons Drive, 478-298-6140, Generally, University of Phoenix offers programs in arts and sciences, business management, criminal justice and security, education, human services, nursing and health care, psychology and technology. Not all subject areas are offered at all locations.

Virginia College: 1900 Eisenhower Parkway, Macon, 478-803-4600, In Macon, Virginia College offers fast-track career training in areas such as business and office, health and medical, medical billing, medical office and cosmetology.

Wesleyan College: 4760 Forsyth Road, Macon, 478-477-1110, Chartered in 1836, Wesleyan is the nation’s oldest women’s college. Wesleyan offers women undergraduate degrees in 31 major and 26 minor academic programs. Among them are accounting, studio art, biology, business administration, economics, education, engineering, international business, mathematics, applied mathematical science, neuroscience, nursing, religious studies and women’s studies. Pre-professional programs also are offered as well as master of education and executive master of business administration graduate programs available to men and women.

Houston County

Central Georgia Technical College: 80 Cohen Walker Drive, Warner Robins, 478-988-6800, In 2013, Central Georgia Technical College and Middle Georgia Technical College combined to form the new Central Georgia Technical College with primary campuses in Macon and Warner Robins. CGTC’s Warner Robins campus provides programs leading to certificates, diplomas and associate degrees. The Continuing Education Department offers courses designed to meet specific community-identified needs, while the Economic Development Programs Department provides specialized training and quick start training. Among CGTC’s academic programs are business and technology, health care and human services, industrial technology and public services.

Georgia Military College (branch): 801 Duke Ave., Warner Robins, 478-225-4978, GMC began offering classes at Robins Air Force Base in 1989 and now offers courses off base. Students may earn associate degrees in art and science in a variety of subjects. Among them are pre-nursing, business administration, information technology, sociology, psychology, history, mathematics and biology.

Fort Valley State University: 1005 State University Drive, Fort Valley, 478-825-6211, FVSU offers its more than 3,000 students educational opportunities through its colleges of agriculture, family sciences and technology, arts and sciences, education, graduate studies and extended education and other programs. Among FVSU’s accredited degree programs are teacher education, veterinary technology, family and consumer sciences, didactic program in dietetics, child development, rehabilitation counseling and case management.

Its core curriculum is identical in nature to almost every college in the United States.
