WARNER ROBINS -- There’s still room for more individual or corporate sponsors at the annual fundraising luncheon next week for Macon Regional CrimeStoppers.

The 8th annual David Pierce Memorial Luncheon is planned for 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. May 7 from at the Museum of Aviation’s Century of Flight Hangar. The event, which includes door prizes and an auction, is presented by the Rotary Clubs of Houston County.

“We’re really hoping for a good turnout from the community to come out and support this,” said Houston County sheriff’s Maj. Alan Everidge, who serves on the planning committee for the luncheon. “Every penny of it goes back to reward money to serve the CrimeStoppers program.”

This year, the luncheon was opened to individuals who may not have $100, $500 or $1,000 to donate but would still like to participate, Everidge said.

For $25, an individual receives lunch and may participate in the raffle for door prizes and the auction for hunting and fishing trips and sports memorabilia, Everidge said.

“We are even going to auction off an autographed framed and matted Mickey Mantle picture and an autographed framed and matted picture of the Atlanta Braves Cy Young winners John Smoltz, Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine,” Everidge said.

Those who would like to sign up should call Lisa McElmurray at 478-752-8355 before the end of the business day Thursday, McElmurray said.
