Jones County’s Don Graham came home from Georgia’s Emergency Management Association Summit with top honors.

Graham was named GEMA’s Emergency Management Agency Director of the Year for 2013, according to a news release.

The retired paramedic manager for The Medical Center of Central Georgia was named Jones County EMA director and fire chief in 2009.

“His unique combination of education, experience and knowledge has been a big asset in operating a tight budget while still finding outside funds for the county,” the release stated.

Graham is credited with bringing fresh ideas to emergency preparedness and overseeing construction of two new fire stations in Jones County.
