WARNER ROBINS -- Houston County school board candidates are scheduled to speak Saturday at an education and election forum.

The event will be held 4-7 p.m. at the Wellston Center, located at 155 Maple Street. It is hosted by the Houston County Democratic Committee and the Middle Georgia Democratic Women’s Club.

Along with Houston County school board candidates from the two contested races, candidates for Houston County State Court clerk have been invited. Candidates will have five minutes each to introduce themselves and deliver their platforms.

At 5:30 p.m., there will be a meet and greet with Democratic candidates running in statewide elections, including for U.S. Senate, state Secretary of State and state School Superintendent.

“We’re pleased to have such a large support from the statewide Democratic candidates even though there are a lot of candidate forums going on across the state,” said Fenika Miller, chairwoman of the Houston County Democratic Committee.
