Free ‘Shred Day’ coming up Saturday in Macon

Staff reportApril 24, 2014

If you’ve got a bag or more of old tax returns or medical statements you’ve been meaning to shred but haven’t, someone will do it for you this weekend.

The Better Business Bureau is holding a Shred Day outside the Wal-Mart on Zebulon Road in Macon from 9 a.m. to noon.

Anyone can bring up to three bags or boxes of papers with personal identification information, and it will be shredded for free.

Disposing of old papers with personal identification can help reduce the risk of identity theft, the BBB says.
