Mercer to play at Georgia Tech on Wednesday

April 23, 2014

As it turns out, Mercer and Georgia Tech traded bus rides, and now the teams will play on Wednesday in Atlanta the non-conference baseball game originally scheduled for Tuesday.

First pitch at Russ Chandler is 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Had Tech agreed to play Wednesday in Macon, the Yellow Jackets would have been on a bus three times this week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and then Thursday for their trip to NC State for a weekend ACC series.

So the Bears, who head coach Craig Gibson said Tuesday night all but volunteered to play in Atlanta, will get an additional bus ride this week. They head to Florida Gulf Coast for a big A-Sun series starting on Friday.
