Car accident leads to death of pedestrian

A minor vehicle accident led to the death of a man Saturday who was walking alongside the road when the wreck happened.

According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, Kenneth Alan Craig, 43, of Montgomery, Ala., died after being struck by a vehicle involved in the accident. No one in the vehicles was hurt, Jones said.

Craig was a truck driver who had parked his truck near the intersection of Jeffersonville and Irwinton roads. Jones said he was apparently headed to a Family Dollar store there when the vehicle accident occurred and he was struck. He said Craig was not in the road when he was hit.

The accident happened at about 1:30 p.m. and Craig was pronounced dead at The Medical Center of Central Georgia at 2:14 p.m.
