Regular travelers through Dooly County on Interstate 75 won’t be able to make a pit stop at the northbound rest area in the next few weeks.

Work on the exit and entrance ramps will close the rest area beginning Monday through May 20, according to a news release from the Georgia Department of Transportation.

“Safety for the motorists and our employees is definitely a factor in this decision,” GDOT District Engineer Thomas Howell said in the release.

Folks looking for a place to use the restroom, walk the dog or stretch their legs are encouraged to use nearby exits.
