Rescue Mission offering Good Friday meal
The Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia will hold its first Easter Community Meal on Good Friday at its Hazel Street campus.
The mission is preparing to serve hundreds of meals on site while delivering hundreds more to the elderly and disabled across the city.
For decades, the mission has provided Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, serving almost 1,500 people last year.
These meals connect us to one another, Executive Director Erin Reimers said in a release. Those in need are reminded that their community has not forgotten them, that we care. Its a time of fellowship and an expression of Jesus love and compassion and what better time for that than Easter?
Fridays meal will begin at 11:30 a.m. The seated meal will be served at the Rescue Missions downtown location at 774 Hazel St., at the corner of First Street.
