Rest those knees: Even though catcher Evan Gattis has been on a tear recently, he’ll get a day off from behind the plate to rest up. Gattis has three consecutive multi-hit games from the Braves and is batting .378 on the season with four home runs. Three of those home runs have come in the last two games (both against the Phillies), and Gattis is hitting .588 with a 1.765 OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage) in his last four games.

Familiar with the Phillies: Alex Wood has faced the Phillies more often than any other team. In his two seasons in the big leagues, Wood has made two starts and appeared in relief five times against Philadelphia. He has a 1-0 record with a 3.86 ERA. As a team, the Phillies are hitting .283 against Wood.

Heating up: It’s impossible to forget about B.J. Upton’s .185 batting average, or the fact that his 2013 season was a bit of a stinker. But try to put less weight on Upton’s first six games of the 2014 season where he struck out 11 times and went 3-for-25 (.120/.120/.160). Instead, look at his last seven games. Since April 8, Upton is 7-for-29 (.241/.333/.414) a triple, a home run and three stolen bases. He’s also reduced his strikeout rate.
