WARNER ROBINS -- A Canton woman died in an April 11 crash on Interstate 75 between a car and a motorcycle at Mile Marker 131 in south Houston County.

Killed was Beverly Lacey Fortner, 45, the passenger on a 2014 Harley Davidson driven by Daniel Shawn Parker, 47, of Marietta, the Georgia State Patrol says.

Rosellen Taylor Peddrick, 22, of Foley, Ala., the driver of the 2006 Toyota Camry, was charged with drunken driving, failure to maintain lane, driving without a license on person and driving in violation of license restrictions, GSP spokeswoman Tracey Watson stated in an email.

Both vehicles were traveling south on I-75 in the right lane when the Toyota struck the right side of the Harley, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and run into the east southbound emergency lane, Watson stated. The crash happened about 9:30 p.m.

Thursday morning, a GSP Specialized Reconstruction Team closed two of three southbound lanes of I-75 at the crash site for about four hours as part of the investigation into the crash, said GSP Cpl. Craig Smith.

The closure resulted in traffic delays from about 8 a.m. until noon.
