A 21-year-old Macon man was indicted Tuesday on allegations he shot a man in the stomach last September and stole his car.

Darin Michael Batts, of Brookdale Avenue, is charged with armed robbery, hijacking a motor vehicle, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the indictment, filed in Bibb County Superior Court.

Batts and another Macon man allegedly left Tindall Heights together on Sept. 27, 2013, and went to the 3800 block of Napier Avenue to pick up some "females," said prosecutor Sandra Matson.

Once they arrived at the Napier Avenue address, Batts allegedly took the other man's wallet at gunpoint, shot him and took his car, leaving him behind, Matson said.

Batts is being held at the county jail on $93,700 bond, according to jail records.
