Atlanta Falcons’ 2014 preseason schedule released

April 9, 2014

The NFL announced its 2014 preseason schedule on Wednesday, and the Atlanta Falcons will play the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans in the Georgia Dome, and the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars on the road.

Dates and times have not been announced yet, and none of the four games will be broadcast nationally. WUPA-TV (CW69) will broadcast all four of the games.

Date Opponent Time TV
TBD vs. Miami TBD WUPA-TV (CW69)
TBD at Houston TBD WUPA-TV (CW69)
TBD vs. Tennessee TBD WUPA-TV (CW69)
TBD at Jacksonville TBD WUPA-TV (CW69)

The Falcons posted an 0-4 record during last season’s preseason schedule, and have never had a winning record in the preseason since the arrival of head coach Mike Smith in 2008.

Year Preseason Record Regular Season Record
2013 0-4 4-12
2012 1-3 13-3
2011 0-4 10-6
2010 2-2 13-3
2009 2-2 9-7
2008 2-2 11-5
Total 7-17 60-36

The Falcons’ preseason record of 7-17 has been rivaled, however, with a 60-36 regular-season showing that includes two NFC South championships, four playoff appearances and the first back-to-back winning seasons (Atlanta actually boasted five winning seasons in a row from 2008-2012) in franchise history.
