Macon man accused in March shooting indicted

A 23-year-old Macon man was indicted Tuesday on allegations he shot another man during a March 8 argument at the Villager Lodge on Harrison Road.

Robert Blalock Hawkins, of Colaparchee Road, allegedly shot 26-year-old Rodney Cooper Jr. multiple times and left before deputies arrived. He later was apprehended at an area motel.

Hawkins is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the indictment, filed Tuesday in Bibb County Superior Court.

He is being held at the county jail without bond, according to jail records.
