Woman accused of withholding 96-year-old's care to get money

Bibb County grand jurors indicted a 49-year-old Macon woman Tuesday on allegations she verbally abused and withheld care from a 96-year-old woman to get money.

Martha Gail Baker is charged with exploitation of an elder person and abuse of an elder person, according to an indictment filed in Bibb County Superior Court.

The abuse and exploitation allegedly occurred between Aug. 20, 2013 and Sept. 5, 2013, according to the indictment.

Information regarding the relationship between Baker and the 96-year-old woman has not been released.

The indictment also alleges Baker called the woman names and yelled in her face.
