Woman who inspired ‘Scandal’ TV show to speak at Mercer

Judy Smith, the inspiration behind the television show “Scandal,” will speak Wednesday at Mercer University. The event, which will begin at 6 p.m. in Willingham Auditorium, is free and open to the public.

Smith is founder and president of Smith & Company, a strategic and crisis communications firm with offices in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles. Over the past 25 years, Smith has worked with clients facing a wide array of issues and challenges throughout the United States and abroad, according to a news release.
