Store manager injured in robbery

A Macon convenience store manager is in stable condition after being attacked and robbed by a gunman early Saturday morning.

The incident happened about 2 a.m. at the G Food Mart-Sunoco convenience store at 3306 Bloomfield Drive, according to a Bibb Sheriff’s Office release.

As the store manager was getting into his vehicle, a suspect approached and banged on the window, demanding money as he brandished a gun. The suspect then hit the manager in the head twice with the gun, grabbed a bag of money and fled. The suspect also took two rings and a necklace from the victim.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a white T-shirt and black mask. He drove away in a dark colored vehicle.

The victim is in stable condition at The Medical Center of Central Georgia.
