A Monroe County man missing since Sunday was returned to his family Wednesday night after being spotted in a Bibb County gas station parking lot.

A clerk at the Texaco on Thomaston Road saw 54-year-old Willie James Thomas and called authorities, according to a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Thomas was reported missing after he left the Whispering Pines Personal Care Home on Ga. 41 in south Monroe County to attend church Sunday. He was reported missing when he hadn’t returned by 1:30 a.m. Monday.
