WARNER ROBINS -- Police say a burglary in progress was interrupted early Wednesday and the suspect arrested.

Timothy Smith, 39, of Warner Robins, was charged with the burglary in the 200 block of Peachtree Circle, states a Warner Robins police news release issued Thursday.

Police dispatched to the 10:08 a.m. call stopped a vehicle in the carport of the home as its driver, later identified as Smith, was about to make a getaway, the release stated. Smith is accused of stealing a tool from a shed in the carport.

Smith was also charged with giving a false name to police.

He also had outstanding warrants in connection with a Centerville burglary, an unrelated charge of deposit account fraud and failure to appear in court charges, jail records show.

Smith was being held without bond Thursday at the Houston County jail.
