Fort Valley man sought in shooting

A Fort Valley man is sought in connection with a Sunday shooting incident.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 29-year-old Matthew S. McGowan in a 7:45 a.m. shooting in the 400 block of Troutman Avenue, Fort Valley Public Safety Director Lawrence Spurgeon said.

Qwinder Trice, 35, of Fort Valley, was shot in the leg. She is recovering at The Medical Center of Central Georgia where she was listed Wednesday in stable condition.

Police dispatched to the Troutman Avenue apartment in reference to the shooting discovered and seized cocaine, drug paraphernalia and gambling money, Spurgeon said.

Authorities are asking for help in locating McGowan, Spurgeon said. Anyone with information may contact Fort Valley police at 478-825-3384.
