Rotary Club offers scholarships

The Warner Robins Rotary Club is offering a $1,000 scholarship to one 2014 graduate at each of the following high schools: Warner Robins, Northside, Houston County and Veterans.

To be eligible, the applicant must be a student in good standing with plans to graduate and go on to post-secondary education.

Applicants should submit a resume including academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, community activities and plans for post-secondary education; a 500-word essay on the topic of “Service Above Self;” and a signed letter of endorsement from a teacher, administrator or counselor.

Application packages should be sent to Rotary Club of Warner Robins, Attn: Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 1082, Warner Robins, GA 31099, and postmarked by May 2. Electronic applications will not be accepted.

MOAA meeting planned

The Middle Georgia Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will meet at 6 p.m. April 11 at The Landings restaurant in Warner Robins. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by 6 p.m. Sunday to Bill Goodwin at wsgoodwin@cox.net.
