Filming to slow traffic near Griffin

A film crew will be working Tuesday on Ga. 16, also known as Newnan Road, just east of Griffin, according to Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Kimberly Larson.

That will create frequent traffic stops, each no more than 5 minutes long, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., she said.

The affected area is near Maloy Road in Spalding County, and heavy congestion is expected. Drivers are asked to slow down and avoid the area if possible. Local police will be helping with traffic control.

Larson did not say what was being filmed.
