WARNER ROBINS -- A fire Friday afternoon displaced three families who lived at Northside Garden Apartments, but no one was injured in the blaze.

Jennifer Powell, public information officer for Warner Robins fire, said the American Red Cross was at the apartments at 510 Iowa Ave. to help the families with temporary shelter.

Firefighters dispatched to the 2:15 p.m. blaze found heavy smoke and flames coming from one of the six-unit buildings. Four of the apartments suffered heavy damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
