Arrest made after Macon man shot dead in his car

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man Thursday on multiple charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a Macon man Wednesday night at 4406 Chambers Road, according to a news release.

Dequantez Shuntae Harris, 24, of Silver Pines Drive, was arrested by the sheriff’s office SWAT team with assistance from the Southeast Regional Task Force based on a tip called into the sheriff’s office.

Harris is currently being held without bond at the Bibb County jail on charges of malice murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and armed robbery.

Deputies responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle Wednesday night after 11 p.m. They found the body of Sanchez Anton Robinson, 26, of Pearl Drive, who had been shot to death in his vehicle, which was parked in the parking of lot of the Chambers Pointe Apartments.
