Dickey Betts announces Macon show in May

Dickey Betts & Great Southern will return to Macon May 3 for a show at the Cox Capitol Theatre.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale at noon Tuesday.

Betts was a founding member of The Allman Brothers Band and played with the band until 2000. He wrote such well-known songs as “Blue Sky,” “Jessica” and “Ramblin’ Man.”

Betts is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and was ranked No. 61 among Rolling Stone magazine’s 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2011.
