A Montezuma man accused of murder in Thursday night’s fatal shooting has been released from a hospital and is now jailed in Houston County.

Lamar Isiodre, 28, was released from a Gwinnett County hospital Sunday where he had been under guard in connection with the slaying of 22-year-old Dylan Akers, 22, of Houston County.

Isiodre was taken from the hospital to jail Sunday night, where he remains without bond, said Houston County sheriff’s Capt. Jon Holland.

Isiodre is accused of shooting Akers multiple times inside a parked car in the 300 block of Ashwood Drive near Feagin Mill Road in what authorities have said was a drug-related confrontation. He allegedly limped and ran between the buildings of Countryside Apartments before collapsing on a nearby street and getting a ride away from the apartments and another ride to the hospital.

Holland said other law enforcement agencies were asked to be on the lookout for a gunshot victim seeking medical treatment and arriving in a personal vehicle. The Duluth Police Department responded that Isiodre had shown up at a Gwinnett County hospital about 1 a.m. Friday.

No charges have been filed at this time against the person who drove Isiodre from where he collapsed or the person who drove him to the hospital, Holland said.
