A tip helped Bibb County sheriff’s investigators seize 23 pounds of marijuana, valued at about $46,000.

At about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s special investigations unit targeted a gray Acura near Interstate 475 and Thomaston Road to interview 36-year-old Traknovoise Sherrod Simmons, who had 10 pounds of marijuana with him, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators later seized about 13 more pounds of pot and a gun in another location in west Bibb County.

Simmons was charged with trafficking marijuana in his 13th arrest in Bibb County.
