Arrest made in February shooting at Macon apartments

Officials arrested on Thursday a 19-year-old accused of shooting a man in the leg and driving off with his car in Macon last month.

Members of the Southeast Regional Task Force arrested Roderick Michael Lofton after a tip was called into Macon Regional CrimeStoppers, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Warrants were issued for Lofton on Feb. 6 after he allegedly shot a 20-year-old Macon man and fled in the man’s Honda Accord. The incident happened at the parking lot of the Colony West apartments at 5284 Bloomfield Road.

Lofton is being held at the Bibb County jail without bond on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of firearm during the commission of a felony and state court probation violation.
