Police release ID of teen killed in Warner Robins shooting

Staff reportMarch 13, 2014

Police have released the identity of the 19-year-old who died after being shot in the head Wednesday evening in Warner Robins.

Aaron Taylor, of Elko, was shot in apartment 185 of the Southland Station apartment complex, said Tabitha Clark, public information officer for the Warner Robins Police Department.

Police were called shortly before 4:45 p.m. Wednesday and found Taylor mortally wounded, according to a news release from Warner Robins police.

Taylor was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Neighbor Tonya Chamberlin, a 32-year-old stay-at-home mom, lives above apartment 185. She said Thursday afternoon that she was at home with her husband when the shooting occurred.

She and her husband heard a “loud bang” about 4:45 p.m., but they didn’t know what it was, Chamberlin said. When she left to pick up her son, a police officer was running into the apartment.

Chamberlin said when she returned about 5:20, police had crime scene tape up across the apartment walkway, and she wasn’t able to enter.

Police are investigating, but no suspects are being sought.
