Citywide bingo, health education session coming Thursday

Staff reportMarch 12, 2014

The Frank Johnson Community Center will host a citywide bingo and health education session for senior citizens Thursday.

Organizers expect up to 300 people, who will get a chance to visit with health care vendors as well as play bingo. The event runs from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the center, located at 2227 Mercer University Drive in Macon.

Participants will include representatives from home health care agencies, pharmacies, dentists’ offices and more.

“The various things that seniors need,” said Mildred Endsley, a senior care advocate for Primecare Home Care Services, which is helping sponsor the event.

The aim, she said, is for seniors “to prepare and be proactive” about their health care needs.

No registration is required. Bingo prizes and door prizes will be offered.
