An enrollment blitz will be held in Macon this week for people who want to sign up for a health care insurance plan under the Affordable Health Care Act.

The event to help Middle Georgians sign up for health coverage will be held 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday at Central Georgia Home Health, 3780 Eisenhower Parkway, according to a news release.

A trained health insurance navigator and certified application counselors will be available to help people find coverage that fits their budgets and meets their needs.

In order to get coverage through the marketplace for 2014, people must enroll by March 31. Anyone not enrolled by this date will have to wait until open enrollment in October to apply for coverage that will be effective Jan. 1, 2015.

Enrollees must bring their Social Security number, employer and income information for everyone in the family, policy numbers for any current health insurance and information about any job-related health insurance that may be available. Those with computer access also should have a valid email address and know their user name and password.
