3 to run for Houston school board after first day of qualifying

So far three people have signed up to run for a vacant Houston County school board seat.

Monday was the first day of qualifying for the May 20 special election for the Board of Education Post 7, at-large seat left vacant by Dave McMahan, who resigned last month.

The deadline to qualify is noon Wednesday.

Those who qualified on Monday include: Andy Rodriguez, 59, retired Air Force; Joseph Bryan Upshaw, 41, general contractor; and Robbin Jackson, 60, educator.
