Three people accused of stealing a $21,000 fur coat got away Dec. 30, but investigators hope surveillance images will lead to their capture.

The trio posed as customers and were able to slip out with a mahogany mink coat from Barnes Furs at 807 Cherry St.

The theft was realized three days later during inventory Jan. 2 and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate.

The video shows a man placing the fur under his trench coat and quickly leaving with two women and getting into a black Mercedes-Benz, possibly an S class series model from the 1990s.

The black male suspect is described as being between 55 and 70 years of age, about 5 feet 8 to 6 feet 2 inches tall, about 165 pounds, and wearing a gray trench coat, brown cap, gray pants and black tennis shoes. He was using a cane at the time.

The older black woman with him was about 55 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing a black coat with a silvery gray fur collar, a black and white chevron patterned jacket and black dress. She had short hair and wore glasses.

The younger black woman was about 35 years old, has long hair and was wearing a black leather and cloth coat over a pink shirt and blue jeans. She also wore a gold, sequined hat.

Anyone with information about the suspects is urged to call Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
